One of my favorite books of all time! Much loved by me, my brothers and friends.
This is the fourth book in The Chronicles of an Age Of Darkness series by Hugh Cook. The entire series is excellent! Each book stands alone, and they can be read out of sequence, but they cross over in many ways, making the world tie together. You'll find yourself bumping into characters from other books every now and again as you follow the story of someone else!
Very amusing and unique! This series is different than any other fantasy series you may have read. Hard to go back to your stock standard fantasy books after reading these!

I love the King's Quest games, and the third in the series is my all time favorite.
It had a fantastic manual with Manannan's magical spells in it. Typing in the spells was such a tense experience, as any mistake would cause the spell to back fire, turning your character into dust, or a cat, or some other diabolical end to your adventures. Fantastic!

I bought this bass guitar in 1992, from Gwyn Ashton for about $550 which was a great deal. I love this bass. It plays really well, and is always in tune even if I haven't played it in months!
This bass has been with me while I played with my first band in early high school, The Jam Pixies, and later Ishedah in the later years of high school, and university. I've now started playing it again with The School Reunion Cover Band.

I bought this guitar in 2004. My first ever electric. It's a Fender Stratocaster copy. I didn't want to spend much (I spent $300 on the guitar and case together), but I still love it. It plays nicely, and keeps it's tune all the way up the fret-board, even after a bit of tom-foolery on the whammy bar.

I bought this small mixing desk from Cash Converters in 2004 so I could begin home recording again. Pictured here is my Hama microphone (which I bought for my video camera) which works pretty well. But I use a generic dynamic microphone I bought from Dick Smith for $25 now.
When I played in bands in high school, dad very generously bought us an 8 track Adat recorder and a big mixing desk, and a bunch of other gear to record with. Cost bucket loads of money. But now with a reasonable home computer, you just need a small mixing desk and microphone and you can make quite professional recordings in your bedroom.

I bought this mandolin when I was about 14, only to discover it was a piece of rubbish. I was just too keen to get one, and finally bought a very cheap one, even though it seemed to be somewhat dishevelled. Well, it was very dishevelled, and over the years I've been tempted to just smash it to pieces to derive some satisfaction from the purchase.
Luckily, my brother Evan decided to take it to The Music Swop Shop to get it looked at, and they made it quite playable for about $60, including an archaic little case. So now I have a mandolin!

'Twer many a year since the unfortunate destruction of the Sony P72, down at The Public Bar, that I finally bought a replacement. I was waiting years to find the right thing, and I'm pretty happy with this little unit.
6x optical zoom. Optical image stabiliser. And manual control over aperture and shutter, with a priority mode for each.
It also has a great panorama mode that lets you shoot up to 32 images, and stitch them together on the computer (which works better than in-camera stitching, as you can adjust the settings to get the best results).

Bought this for $90 at Cash Converters. A steal, as it's still worth $700 in stores. The battery was loose and it kept turning off at random moments, but I stuck it in a metal case that holds the battery firm, and it's fine!
My old iPaq 1930 was a much nicer look, feel, build, etc, but this new one has WiFi, 400mhz processor (better for running games like Pocket Quake 2 and emulators for GBA, Megadrive, etc.
I'm keen to get a Windows Mobile PPC phone with everything all in one, and a slide-out keyboard so you can really type stuff in more easily, like an i-mate K-Jam, or a Dopod 383 Pro.
